Promotions took him to the bank's Trust Branch as Senior Estates Officer, before moving to the international accounting firm, Deloitte Haskins & Sells, to head their Trust and Probate Section in Birmingham. Alan joined the firm in January 2001 to deal with wills, probate, trusts and tax planning for private clients. To add to his Associate of Chartered Institute of Bankers (Trustee Diploma) status, he is a member of the Securities Institute and of STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners).
