Alison graduated with an Honours degree in law from the University of Birmingham and completed her training as a solicitor with a large City of London firm in 1984 prior to moving to the Midlands where she practised as a commercial property solicitor with a leading Birmingham firm.

Alison then took a career break to bring up her family and returned to the profession to specialise in private client work. She joined Thomson & Bancks in November 2006 from a firm in Worcester. Alison primarily deals with Wills, inheritance tax planning, administration of estates, enduring powers of attorney and elderly persons' issues. She is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and is a student member of STEP.
