Our HistoryIn 1830 (the exact date has been lost in the mists of time) Mr George Badham first started in practice as a sole practitioner in the charming provincial market town of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. In 1853, Mr Samuel Philpot Brookes, who had opened his own office some 2 years previously, joined him in partnership. Some time later in 1897 Mr T Weldon Thomson had the audacity to open an office in competition!
Subsequently, it was on 17th September 1934 that Mr Gordon Bancks first put up his brass plate in the equally fine provincial market town of Pershore, Worcestershire (outside 34 Bridge Street to be precise). In 1958 the then partners of T Weldon Thomson & Co acquired Mr Bancks' practice when he retired from the law to take the cloth. In 1972, Mr Coleman, the sole surviving partner of Brookes & Badham, joined Mr. Woollatt and Mr. Finch, the then partners of T Weldon Thomson & Co in the merged firm trading as Thomson & Badham in Tewkesbury and as Gordon Bancks & Co in Pershore. In 2005 the firm became known as Thomson & Bancks Solicitors in both Tewkesbury and Pershore. From 1st July 2006 all our legal services have been delivered as Thomson & Bancks LLP. We are now a Limited Liability Partnership registered at Companies House and regulated by the Law Society of England and Wales. We are proud of our tradition and history, which illustrates a degree of stability that clients over the years have found of immense value. However we realise that the future is infinitely more important. One of the major legal practices in the two counties, the firm has grown steadily to nine partners supported by over 60 staff. Our experience and size, gives us the depth and breadth of personnel and technological support to handle a wide range of legal issues without compromising our personal commitment to meet the individual needs of every client. |
